Transport Engineering Southland was founded in Invercargill by Stephen Keast in 1997. We started out by completing small maintenance contracts on heavy trucks and trailers. Stephen had previously been building heavy trailers and setting up trucks while employed by another engineer.
We have gradually grown in size and knowledge to producing 35 to 40 trailers a year and fitting out various types of trucks from 8 to 26 tonnes for both the New Zealand and Australian markets.
A modern purpose built workshop was commissioned in 2005 on our current site, with expansions continuing as the business grows further. The company now employs approximately 25 staff in a variety of trade related roles. Where possible the majority of work is completed on site. If outwork is required, Transport Engineering Southland prides itself on trying to utilise local firms
